Hitting The Jackpot

Saturday, April 25, 2015

Because dinner and dancing just wasn’t quite enough for this couple with huge personalities, their wedding reception itinerary was jam packed with entertainment. Whether guests were bellied up to the Black Jack table or devouring scrumptious build-you-own food stations, each and every one of them was enjoying the evening.

Chris and Amber Peck sealed the deal on Saturday, April 12, 2015, with their ceremony at Stephens College. Following was a reception at CCC complete with a DJ, photo booth, character artist, three tables of casino games, Gatsby-themed decorations and props and fireworks to finish out the evening with a bang.

There was surely no lack of imagination throughout this planning process. Read below to learn some cute tips and tricks this couple incorporated into their wedding:

Props
You’ve seen it done with glow sticks and sunglasses, but how about offering your guests masks, beads and feathered headbands? Amber and Chris encouraged their guests to join in with the themed fun by offering them these props throughout the evening and to accompany them on the dance floor.

Affordable Décor

Picture frames are your best friend when it comes to adding a little personality and inexpensive decorating to your event. Frames can be purchased from the dollar store and by filling them with signage and fun sayings, you’re killing two birds with one stone. Make sure to label any hosted bar options and buffets, or choose some inexpensive scrapbook paper to add detail to a reserved sign.

1920s-Themed Gowns
Completely mirroring the era of the venue, Amber’s bridesmaids sported sequined, embroidered bridesmaid dresses. And following the trend that Payton Finley did at our last wedding, not a single dressed matched in color, design or material. Individually, each bridesmaid looked beautiful and unique but together they were a glamorous bunch to support Amber and her sequined, embroidered ivory wedding gown.

Ombre
Whether it’s hair, clothing or wedding cakes, this trend is here to stay this year!

Keeping the Celebration Going
Since Amber’s dad dabbles in winemaking and is looking to begin brewing his own beer, it made sense to send guests home with personalized half-bottles of wine. Not only were they made with love by Amber’s dad and featured fun flavors such as Lemon Lime and Cranberry, but they also had a personalized label to help remember the evening by. Cheers to continuing the celebration for these two newlyweds!

How Sweet It Is To Be Baby Herzog

Thursday, April 16, 2015

Yes, the club has picturesque spaces for both bridal AND baby showers. Since Baby Herzog is already a golf player in the making, it made perfect sense to celebrate Emily and baby right here at CCC. Thanks to the creative minds of Emily’s in-laws, the afternoon was adorably decorated and filled with love.

Take Homes
Who doesn’t love a party favor? Individually wrapped and placed in front of every seat was a box of animal crackers. On the buffet were bags of popcorn with “She’s Ready to Pop” tags, and to create a lasting memory of Baby Herzog, a packet of seeds were tucked inside a small gift bag tied with a ribbon and the words “A Baby Is Blooming”  on it.

Multipurpose Centerpieces
There was a blooming theme throughout the shower, so centerpieces were created by putting flowers and plants inside aluminum buckets and housing candles in oversized glass jars. Plus, game winners were able to select a plant to take home with them as a prize to plant in their own gardens.

Decorating with Toys
This one is easy if you already have kids at home. Instead of spending tons of money on new decorations or new props, take a look at what you have at home.
-Use small baby strollers to fill a buffet table and give it some height. Or since children’s furniture is miniature, use a small table and chairs or bassinet to give the room a feel similar to a nursery.
-Use blocks to spell out baby’s name or the expecting mother’s name.
-Baby quilts can pose as tablecloths or overlays (just make sure not to get any food on these sentimental pieces!)
-Tie up cloth diapers with a ribbon and use it to weigh down balloons.

Or if you’re purchasing oversized stuffed animals for the baby, use them as table décor for the gift table.

Play With Food
It is a shower for a tiny human after all...playing with your food just seems like the obvious. If you're crafty in the kitchen, create a fruit baby cradle out of a watermelon. Or, create a mini theme throughout your food spread. This spread featured mini cheesecakes in muffin liners....delish!

Now that we’ve celebrated, the countdown is on for Baby Herzog. Only a few more weeks until we add to the CCC family!

Shelley, our food and beverage director, pulled out all the stops for this year's Easter Extravaganza. From bunny themed center pieces to a kid coloring corner, everyone in the family had something to enjoy. However, it was not long into the day when the Easter bunny stopped by and stole the show. There were hugs galore from all he little ones, and they were full of anticipation for the bunny meet and greet. Thank you to all the families who came out and celebrated Easter with us here at CCC.
